Obituary of Jean Allardyce Wilkie

WILKIE, Jean Allardyce (nee Stephen) passed away peacefully at Dove House Personal Care Home, Regina on 22 March 2005 in her 88th year, after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife of the late Andrew J. Wilkie, mother of Kenneth Ian Wilkie (Anna) of Dartmouth, NS and William T. Wilkie (Mary Ann) of Vernon, BC; grandmother of Heather (Windsor, ON), David and Andrea (Dartmouth, NS), Kendra (Christchurch, NZ), Meaghan (Calgary) and step-grandchildren Jennifer Southcombe (Edmonton, AB) and Ian Cooper (Victoria); nieces Heather (Joe) Kurz and Melanie (Gene) McLaughlin (Calgary); nephews Bob (Trina) Stephen (Dauphin, MB) and Kevin Stephen (Victoria); step-niece Norma Jean (Don) Hill (Regina), other extended family, and her special friend Ray Taylor (Regina). Predeceased by her husband Andrew J. Wilkie, brother James C. (Jean) Stephen, nephew David Stephen, sisters-in-law Mary (Cardy) Rollefson, Irene Wilkie, Helen (Harold) Deans and Grace Wilkie. Jean and Andy were founding members of Broadway United Church. She served with UCW, IODE, and Cansurmount. She had a passion for curling, football, CNIB bowling, travel, Regina Symphony concerts, and her many friendships. Her sons express special thanks to niece Heather Kurz for her love and support over the years. Also, thanks are extended to the staff of Dove House and Dr. Bester for their compassionate care, special friend Ray Taylor for bringing out the best in her, and CNIB for their assistance. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Avenue, Regina with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Private family interment.
