Obituary of Elizabeth Pickford

PICKFORD, Elizabeth (Betty) passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 28, 2005. Betty was born in The Pas, MB on May 23, 1923. Predeceased by her husband Lew (2001); her brother, Ed Okins. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ken (Sharron) and their three children, Liz (Steve), Cindy (Ken) and Suzanne (David) and daughter Sherrin Sarsfield (Terry Bliss) and her two children Jeff and Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren. Betty will be fondly remembered by her many friends and relatives. Special thanks to the loving and caring staff and residents of Kennedy Manor, Dr. Cheryl Zagoseski and the Palliative Care nurses, especially Bob and Father Paul Dungan. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity R. C. I took his hand when I heard his call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found my peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys, a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, O yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. My lifes been full, Ive savored much, good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Dont lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee. God wanted me now; He set me free.
