Obituary of Barbara Kathleen Walsh

WALSH - Barbara Kathleen Walsh (Hutchinson), born July 25, 1917 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England, passed away March 28, 2005 at William Booth Grace Hospice, Regina, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by her mother and father Margaret and Albert Hutchinson (England); her husband Richard Norman Walsh (August 2, 1996); sister Margaret (Ena) Marsh (England); brothers, Albert and David Hutchinson (England); infant daughter Julia Margaret (July 20, 1946); Barbara is survived by her three sons: Philip (Daphne) Walsh of Regina and their son Michael (Tasha) of Calgary, David (Carol) Walsh of Regina and their children, Shannon of Victoria, Paul (Amy) of Regina, and Timothy of Regina, Jonathon (Janis) Walsh of Regina and Jons sons, Patrick and Steven of Regina; and nephews, Tony Hutchinson and Matthew Marsh, both of England. Barbara was a war bride coming to Canada following WW II and settling in Regina. She worked for many years for the provincial and federal government. She was an active member of the War Brides in Victoria and the QuAppelle Chapter of the I.O.D.E. in Regina serving as Provincial President and National Vice-President in 1967-69. She was awarded the British Defense Medal for service during the war and the Canadian Centennial Medal for her work with the I.O.D.E. Barbara and Norman were early members of St. Lukes Anglican Church in Regina. They retired to Victoria in 1982 and were active members of St. Michaels and All Angels Parish. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Grace Hospice in Regina. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in her memory can be made to Regina Palliative Care. Memorial Service will be held at St. Lukes Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Road, Regina on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Willie Lourens officiating.
