Obituary of Lois Merle Wilson
Wilson - Lois Merle (nee Neville) of Regina passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30th, 2005 at the age of 73. Merle is sadly missed by her three children, Lesley of Ottawa, Taralyne (Don) of Regina, Kevin (Gail) of Saskatoon, two brothers Glen (Laura) of B.C., Raymond (Jessie) of Weyburn, eight precious grandchildren, Brendan and Rory (Ottawa), Stephen, Sean, Mathew and Gabriel (Regina) and Carolyn and Graham (Saskatoon) together with numerous nieces and nephews. Merle was born in Kerrobert in 1932 and moved to Regina in 1935. She attended Davin School and Central Collegiate in Regina and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. In her youth, she enjoyed badminton at the Wascana Winter Club and excelled at tennis and curling. She maintained an active lifestyle and will be missed by her many friends at the Dr. Paul Schwann Centre. After her retirement from SaskTel, Merle devoted her time to many activities and charities including most recently the Killarney Village Condo Association, the Central Collegiate Scholarship Committee, the South Leisure Centre Bridge Club and in the classroom where her daughter teaches.
Merle was her grandchildrens biggest fan. She loved attending their sporting events, school pageants and accompanying them on family vacations. Merle maintained lasting friendships with close childhood friends and with countless other friends she made along her journey in life. She found meaning in every day and filled hers with acts of kindness, enjoyable times with friends and memorable gatherings with family. Merle will always be remembered as a selfless friend, devoted mom and a doting grandma to so many that will dearly miss her sense of humour, wonderful spirit and positive outlook on life. She believed life is measured not by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. The family would like to thank MPICU at the Regina General Hospital for their loving care.
