Obituary of Catherine Faye Kozan

KOZAN - Catherine Faye, late of Cupar, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2005, at the age of 64 years, surrounded by her loving family; ending her courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father, Don Anderson, Faye is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Joe; daughters, Rhonda (John) Kotylak and Sharon (Rick) Flaman; five grandchildren, Kirk and Kyle Kotylak, Jillesse, Carter and Abbey Flaman; her mother Kathleen Anderson; her sisters, Wanda Anderson and Peggy Burnett; together with numerous nieces and nephews. Faye was born in Cupar in 1940. She attended school in Cupar and graduated at QuAppelle Diocesan School before entering nurses training at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw. In 1962 she graduated as a registered nurse; and was elected by her class as Valedictorian. She also received the Knights of Columbus Bedside Nursing Award. Faye enjoyed nursing and touched many lives during her forty year career; working at the Regina General Hospital, Cupar Hospital, Cupar and District Nursing Home, Cupar Volunteer Ambulance and Touchwood Hills Home Care. Faye and Joe were married June 1, 1963 and enjoyed many summers farming together and relaxed in the warmth of Arizonas winters. Faye enjoyed her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all. Celebration of her life will take place with Prayer Service, Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church, Cupar. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patricks Church. Interment will follow in Cupar Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Salem and nursing staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Dr. Clein and nursing staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital.
