Obituary of Richard Sauer
SAUER -Richard "Dick" Sauer passed away peacefully one week before his eightieth birthday. Born near Southey and raised in Zehner, Dick lived most of his life in Regina. Dick was a retired and gifted Mechanic who also founded the successful taxi business, Buffalo Cabs. He died one year following the passing of his wife, Sadie Sauer. Dick was predeceased by his parents, Bertha and Carl Sauer; brothers, Ossie and Burt Sauer; and sisters, Katherine Read, Kathleen Lung, Francis Scherle, Adeline and Irene Sauer. He will be missed by his sister, Evelyn Bremner of Victoria, B.C., and his five children: Gloria and (Jim) Taylor of Nipawin; Linda Sauer of Regina; Lyle Sauer and (Carol Grainger) of Regina; Kathy Sauer of Regina; and Garry and (Maureen) Sauer of Castlegar, B.C. Blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Dick was loved by Jahil Chandler, Sara Goel, David Haggett, Shawn and Jayson Hoedel, Vanessa and Dallas Sauer, Tyrik Ross, Liam Goel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dick will be lovingly remembered for his generous and feisty spirit. A self-taught "Jack-of-All-Trades", Dick displayed both ingenuity and hard work throughout his life. Sadly, Dick's health declined as he struggled to recover from the sudden passing of his beloved Sadie.
