Obituary of Rita Lonie Toniello

TONIELLO - Rita Lonie Toniello (Ryan) passed away Saturday April 16, 2005 at the age of 79 years in the presence of her loving family at Regina, SK. Rita is survived by her husband of almost 51 years, Joe. Left to cherish her memory are her four children; one daughter Lonie (Ken) Carr of Regina, SK., and three sons Jori (Elizabeth) of Ottawa, ON., Dino (Shelly) of Regina, SK., and Jamie (Becky) also of Regina, SK., Rita leaves behind eight grandchildren; Jolene (Tim) Paetsch of Saskatoon, SK., Jared Carr (Katie Thorson) of Saskatoon, SK., Ginevra Toniello, Dylan Toniello, Kelsey Cuthbert, Hayley Toniello, Brandon Toniello, and Sammy Toniello all of Regina, Sk. Rita was also blessed with three great-grandchildren; Taylor, Keeley and Hayden all of Saskatoon, SK. Rita will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by an extended family including a brother and sister-in-law Sergio and Antonietta Toniello of Regina as well as a sister and brother-in-law Anna and Danilo Dal lago in Italy. Rita will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews here in Regina, in Ontario and in Italy. She will be dearly remembered by Sabine Felsing of Ottawa, ON. Rita was born in Regina on December 7th 1925, to Charles and Mathilda (Gottselig) Ryan. She is predeceased by her parents, her infant sister, Mary Rita Ryan of Regina and her brother Frederick Francis Ryan of Hamilton, ON. Supporting Rita during her long and difficult battle with Kidney disease were the staff of the Renal unit at the Regina General Hospital. In their loving and caring hands Rita endured some of the most difficult hours of her time here with us. Special thanks from Rita and her entire family are extended to all the Angels on 6F as well as Hazel Eros and Cliff Geiger from the General Hospital. The friendship, care, love, spiritual support and guidance offered in Ritas final days and hours meant everything to her and the family. In lieu of flowers, friends if so wishing may make donations in memoriam to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Regina Br. 1545 C McAra St., Regina SK. S4R-8G9. Prayers will be held Tuesday evening April 19th 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel 2136 College Ave. Regina, SK. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, 420 College Avenue with Rev. Bill Mahoney as celebrant.
