Obituary of Donna Lois Kennedy
KENNEDY_Donna Lois (nee Walper) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2005. Donna was born on April 21, 1935 at Biggar, Sk. and grew up on a farm south of town. She married Donald Kennedy in November 1953 and they raised five children on a farm that was 12 miles west of Biggar. In 1977, Donna moved to Penticton, B.C. She lived in various locations in the Okanagon until 1995 when she moved back to Sk. and lived in North Battleford before moving to Regina in 1997 and to Balgonie a couple years later. Donna loved music and she played several instruments. She loved to knit, crochet, sew and quilt. Her grandchildren were a big part of her life and she made each of them and her children a unique quilt. Donna loved to make people laugh and performed at a number of events in the Okanagon and Balgonie. She was an active member of the O.O.R.P. (Order of Royal Purple) wherever she lived, but maintained her membership in the Biggar Lodge for 40 years. Donna was predeceased by her father Jim, her mother Mae, her sons Donny (infant), Barry and her daughter Lynne. She will be sadly missed by her special friend Richey Lane; her daughters Rhonda (Rod) Lindskog, of Emerald Park, Bev (Doug) Labbe of Hinton, Alberta, and Karen (Bev) Wharington of North Battleford, Sk.; her brother George (Diane) Walper and their son James of Chilliwack, BC. and grandchildren Robbie, Tyrel, Michael, Julie, Jesse and Katie; and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of Donna's life on Wednesday, May 25th, 2005 at 2:00p.m. at the Balgonie Baptist Church with Pastor Brian J. Munro officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in Donna's memory to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, Sk.
