Obituary of Oscar Morettin

MORETTIN, OSCAR 1934 - 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Oscar Morettin on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Regina Pioneer Village at the age of 71 years. Oscar was predeceased by his parents, Marcello and Maria; brother-in-law, Luigi. Oscar is lovingly survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances; one son David (Patty); three grandchildren, Debra, Samantha and Megan; one daughter Carla (Brad) Litzenberger; brother Cornelio (Erika) Morettin; one sister Mercedes Morettin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and Italy. Oscar was born in Morsano, Italy and moved to Canada in 1954. He worked throughout Canada as a pipefitter, settling in Regina in 1956. He married Frances in 1965 and together they raised their two children, David and Carla. He retired in 1994 and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Italian Club and watching sports, especially soccer. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina with Rev. Paul Dungan presiding. Interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memoriam, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or to a charity of choice.
