Obituary of John Gordon Wotherspoon

WOTHERSPOON - John (Jack) Wotherspoon, late of Regina, age 89 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2005. Predeceased by his parents, Jack is survived by his loving wife Edith and his children Bill (Sharon) of Red Deer and their children, Jeremy, Danielle and Megan, all of Calgary; Robert of Regina; Jane of Red Deer; John of Calgary; his sister Muriel of Victoria; his brother Eric (Donna) of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In his youth he loved hockey and later in life, as time permitted, he enjoyed curling and golfing. He served in the Navy in WWII. He graduated as a Petroleum Engineer from the University of Alberta in 1951. His degree eventually led him to a career with the Saskatchewan Government in Mineral Resources where he became Deputy Minister. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Rosemont United Church, 5000 - 8th Avenue with Rev. Marjorie Kent officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
