Obituary of Joseph Groeller

Joseph "Jose Groeller September 22, 1920 - June 25, 2005 Joseph Groeller was born in Austria on September 22, 1920. He was 7 years old when he came to Canada with his parents Frank and Theresa. Joe joined Burns Company in 1940 and in 1944 he became the manager of Soo Freight Lines (Motorways) in Saskatoon. He was transferred to Edmonton in 1948 and then to Regina in 1965. He retired after 35 years in the trucking industry. When Joe retired he and Jeannine moved to Edmonton. They spent ten years enjoying their winters in Mesa. Oh how he and Jeannine loved to sit in the sun and entertain friends on their patio. In June 2000 Jeannine passed away. A very special thank-you to Bob and Kathy Martel of Edmonton and sister-in-law Adrienne Burnash for looking after Joe prior to his move to Regina in January 2003. He enjoyed the good life at Victoria Estates. Joe passed away peacefully at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his first child Shirley, his parents Frank and Theresa and his wife Jeannine (Martel). Joe is survived by his first wife, Lillian and their children, son Frank of Regina, daughters Jean Groeller and Barb Neil (Bob) of Regina Beach, grandchildren Mark and Cheryl Groeller, and Colin Neil. Joes family will hold a private interment where he will be placed next to his mother and father. Thank you to the staff of 4A and 3A (Palliative Care Unit) at the Pasqua Hospital. You are truly special people. In memory of Joe, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital.
