Obituary of Gordon Keith Rickbeil
RICKBEIL - Gordon (Rick) passed away at the Pasqua Hospital on August 1, 2005. He was born August 7, 1921 in Melfort, SK. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, both parents and brother, Melville. He is survived by his son, Lynn of Sechelt, BC; daughter-in-law, Evelyne of Sechelt, BC; two grandsons, James (Tina) of Anchorage, Alaska and Dean of Sechelt, BC. He is also survived by brother, Ted (Corinne) Rickbeil,; sisters, Verna Gerrish and Eileen (Gordon) Smith; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as May Thoen (his mother-in-law) whom he visited regularly. Gordon was an avid hockey player with the Melfort Athletics. He also played ball in the Melfort area for many years. He moved to Weyburn in 1967 and was employed with J. I. Case until his retirement, then he moved to Regina. While in Weyburn he refereed hockey for many years. In Regina he was employed with the Agridome for several years as well as resident manager of the apartment building where he lived. Gordon was also a long time member of the ELKS B.P.O.E. Lodge. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
