Obituary of Arthur Henry Eckert
ECKERT, Arthur Henry - passed away at the Pasqua Hospital on August 4, 2005. He was born in Zealandia, Saskatchewan on June 30, 1916, and moved to Carlyle, Saskatchewan at an early age. He served in World War II with the Regina Rifles where his tour of duty took him through England, Belgium, Holland, France, and Germany. After the War he returned to Carlyle where he was employed with BA and Gulf Oil until 1972. In 1972 he moved from Carlyle to Regina where he was employed with the Department of Education (Saskatchewan Learning) as a Building Superintendent until his retirement. In 1991, he moved from Regina to Kinookimaw Beach where he resided until his death. Art was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Olga; sisters, Erna, Tudy, Lydia, Elsie, and Lena; brothers, Albert (in infancy), and Ben. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva; son, Murray Eckert; daughter, Myrna (Jack) Wilkie; his three grandchildren, Meghan, John and Joe Wilkie; two sisters, Alice Stockton and Alma McEwan; brother, Bill (Vivian) Eckert as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the thoughtful and compassionate doctors and nursing staff of Unit 4C at the Pasqua Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on ___________________ with a private interment at a later date.
