Obituary of Norman Charles Watson

WATSON, Norman Charles On Monday, August 8, 2005, Norm Watson passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a brief illness, at the age of 92. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Maureen Simon, son-in-law Larry, and granddaughter Amy of Regina; his daughter Barbara Petlichkov, son-in-law Roddy, and grandsons Stephen and Shawn of Scarborough, ON; his brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Freda Watson of Regina; and several nieces and nephews. Norm was predeceased by his wife, Violet in 1996; his father, Charles; his mother, Hattie; and his brother, Bruce. Born on July 29, 1913 Norm resided in Regina for his entire life. He worked for the CPR for 38 years and served in the Navy during World War II. After his retirement, Norm and Vi traveled extensively in Canada, the United States and other parts of the world. He loved to putter around the house and yard and at his cottage which he built for his family at Saskatchewan Beach. Norm was a quiet and gentle man, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a great lover of animals. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2005 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park Chapel, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East with Rev. Laura Sundberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memoriam, to the Regina Humane Society of Regina, Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
