Obituary of Aganetha Hart

HART, Aganetha (Nettie): Born in Gretna, MB on August 18, 1909. After a brief illness she passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on August 10, 2005. She was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Justina Sawatsky, her husband Harry in 1961, her brothers Bernard and John, her sisters Christine MacIntosh and Tina Sarka. She is survived by her children Ruth (Allen) Walde of Regina, son Kenneth (Marjorie) Hart of Regina and son Harvey Hart of Victoria, BC. She is also survived by three brothers, Peter (Tina) of Swift Current, Jake (Sylvia) of Calgary and Cornelius (Eunice) of Regina; one sister, Mary Boyce of Maple Creek; sisters-in-law, Marg and Dorothy (Sawatsky) of Swift Current. She will be missed by her five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Netties family moved to Swift Current after the First World War. Being the oldest sibling, she started working as a young teenager to help support the family. There she later met her future husband, Harry William Hart, a salesman who served as a Captain during the Second World War. She was active in the Royal Canadian Legion in Swift Current and received her 50 year pin and a lifetime membership. She was a very talented woman and had a special gift for design, color, and texture. Sewing was her hobby and it brought the family through the dirty thirties. She sewed clothes for her grandchildren, sight unseen and continued sewing until last year. As a widow she continued to decorate her little house and kept up the repairs, doing most of the necessary jobs herself. Nettie moved to Regina in September of 2004 to be near her children. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Stuart Manor and the caring nurses and staff in 4C at the Pasqua Hospital. Also, thanks to Drs. M. Alam and D. Kothare for their kindness and understanding. A private family service will be held. Interment will be held in Swift Current at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined. Those wishing can make a donation to a charity of their choice. Condolences to the family may be emailed to reception@speersfuneralchapel.com
