Obituary of William Joseph Kohler
KOHLER - William Joseph Kohler (Bill), age 95 years, late of Regina, formerly of Chamberlain, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2005 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Magdelena, daughter Carolyne, son-in-law John, parents Joseph and Catherine Kohler, brother Peter, sisters Mary, Agnes, Susan, and Matilda and numerous other relatives and friends. He is survived by his loving family, daughters Tina Diebel, Hilda (John) Bast, Doreen (Terry) Pysar and son Clarence (Carol) Kohler. Hell be greatly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Gerald (Kim) Diebel, Ken (Diane), Tyler and Luke Diebel, Gary (Barb), Elena and Liam Diebel, Shelly (Joe), Nicole, Chris, and Jordan Maierhoffer, Darrell (Barb), Jonathon and Kendra Bast, Donna Bast (Ken), Kim (Glenn), Tara and Jean Fisher, Cody and Chloe Kohler and other relatives and friends. William was born in Odessa, Russia in 1910. He came with his parents at a young age and settled in the Holdfast district. He married Magdelena Ackerman in 1933 and started farming in the Chamberlain district, which was his passion. Bill was involved with community activities throughout the years. As well, he had a special gift for his hobby of woodworking and socializing with family and friends was always a highlight. Bill lived the majority of his life in Chamberlain but the remaining years lived in Regina at the Queen Victoria Estates and the Claddagh Manor. He leaves a legacy of special memories to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Sister Mel Hruska presiding. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Annes R. C. Church, Chamberlain with Rev. Barry Anwender presiding. Interment in Chamberlain Cemetery.
