Obituary of Alma Caroline McElree

McELREE, ALMA CAROLINE - mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, born December 15, 1920 and passed away August 23, 2005. Predeceased by her father and mother, John and Caroline Neugebauer and husband Herb McElree. Alma will be missed by her sons, Mervin (Doreen) and Wayne (Wendy); grandchildren, Garnet of Vancouver, Tanya (Patrick) Mengel of Regina and Michael (Kari) of Prince George; great-grandchild, Samuel Mengel; sisters, Ida Scholz, Hilda Bastin, Martha Wagner; brother Harry (Elsie) Neugebauer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alma was a kind and caring woman with a quiet strength that provided a solid enduring foundation for her home and family. She will always be remembered for her wonderful farm gardens and fabulous farm meals - fried chicken, cabbage rolls, flapper pie and butter tarts, to name a few favorites. A celebration of Almas life will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue with Rev. Glen Stever officiating. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined.
