Obituary of Helen Virginia Wilson
Wilson, Helen Virginia (nee Liknes) passed away with her family by her side on August 23, 2005. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Wilson; her daughter Colleen Fink (Lloyd); her son John (Yvette); her grandchildren Kristen, Nicole, Jillian, Matthew, Wilson and Adam; her sister Marj Ryan; her brother Ernie Liknes (Molly); her sister-in-law Dot Liknes as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Martin Liknes; brother Irvin Liknes and brother-in-law Mel Ryan. Helen was born near Consort, Alberta and grew up in the small hamlet of Winter, Saskatchewan. She taught school in several communities throughout Saskatchewan. She married Robert Wilson in 1956 and they moved to Regina in 1962. Helen was a very active member in her church, St. Andrews United and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a talented musician and played many different instruments including trumpet in the Regina Lions Adult Band for many years and mandolin in the Mandolin Orchestra. Helen touched the lives of those she met and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Wesley United Church, 3913 Hillsdale Street, Regina with Rev. John Haas officiating. Interment in the R.C.M.P. Cemetery.
