Obituary of Raymond Dennis Smith
SMITH, Raymond Dennis, born July 23, 1943, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2005. Ray is predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret (Dench) and a daughter, Karen. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, son Chad, and daughter Crystal; his adopted daughter Pat (Jerry) and grandchildren; Loretta and Shaun; his four legged children; Duke and Tom; mother-in-law Muriel Halvorson of Invermay; his stepfather Raymon Smith of Prince Albert; children from his first marriage, Terry, Tracy and Darcy; eight grandchildren; brothers Edward, Ernest, Bob and Ronald; sisters Shirley, Eileen, Audrey, Joan, Marlene and their spouses; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was a plumber, a heating and air conditioning specialist and later a carpenter. He established the Meat Rabbitt industry in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. Ray was an avid Roughrider fan, going to all the games until ill health forced him to stay at home. A Rider flag always flew in his yard which was always a showplace. Ray had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life to the best of his abilities. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, September 3rd, 2005 at 10:00 am with Rev. Harry Wilker officiating.
