Obituary of Eugene Wallace Innes
INNES, Eugene Wallace Innes passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2005. Born in Corinne, Sask. on August 17, 1916. Eugene served in the Army RCCS 5th Canadian Armoured Divisional Signals from October 1940 until September 1945. During that time he served in the U.K., Continental Europe and the Mediterranean. After his return from the war, Eugene bought a farm in Lewvan, Sask. in 1946 and farmed until 2000. In the following years he continued to help his son. On July 10, 1947 he married Bessie Lydia Goodhew. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Hannah, brothers Kenneth, Charles, Stuart and William, and sister Eva. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Bessie "Toots; son Stuart (Heather) and children Dylan and Karen; one sister Hazel and several nephews and nieces. Eugene curled, golfed, bowled and was an avid duplicate bridge player. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren. His grandson says "He grew the best garden potatoes EVER. Next to his family, farming was the love of his life. A Graveside service will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Sutton officiating.
