Obituary of Dimitrios Kolitsas
KOLITSAS - Dimitrios passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. He is predeceased by his wife Sophia in 1984, his son John in 2004 and his infant son Michael. He is also predeceased by his sisters Pagona and Maria, his brothers Evangelos, Antonios, Minas, Kostantinos and Elias. Dimitrios is survived by his children George (Niki), Antonios (Dimitra), Gus (Mary) and his daughter-in-law Voula. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sophia Vournazos (Constantine), Maria Kolitsas Lang (Warren), Jim Kolitsas, Spiro Kolitsas (Sofia), Dimitrios Kolitsas, Sophia Kolitsas, Marianne Kolitsas and Anthea Kolitsas, his great grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony and Steven Vournazos, Angelique and Michael Lang, and Yanni and Kostantinos Kolitsas, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada, Greece and the United States. Dimitrios was born January 11, 1911 in Kalamaki on the island of Andros, Greece. He came to Canada in 1968 where he joined his sons. He lived his life to the fullest. Each spring he looked forward to his annual trip to Greece. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Bertas Personal Care Home, where he spent the last ten months, for their excellent and compassionate care, and to the staff at the Pasqua Hospital. Prayers will be held tonight, Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Spyridon Vandoros officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK, S4S 2B2.
