YEE, WILLIAM HIM SUE
On September 18, 2005, William Him Sue Yee passed away at the age of 93. Born in Toisan, China, William immigrated to Canada in 1934. He married his wife Belle in 1940. During their 65 year marriage, William and Belle were blessed with eight children. Together, William and Belle built the BYW Grocery and Confectionery in 1962. They retired to Burnaby, British Columbia in 1980. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Predeceased by his parents, Dong Woo and Yu Sau, one brother, three sisters, and one daughter (Betty). He will be sadly missed but loved forever by his wife, Belle, and his children Barry (Gladys), Bill (Theresa), Benny (Jessie), Barbara (Jamieson), Brenda (Chris), Bonnie (Michael), Brian (Sharon), their families (16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren) and many cousins, nephews and nieces in Canada and the United States. He is also survived by one brother, Robert, in Toronto. William helped many Chinese immigrants in Regina, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed time with his family. He was loved by many and a special man to those who came to know him; he will be sadly missed by all. Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Regina Chinese Alliance Church, 3010 Arens Road E. with Rev. Gershom Ng officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park, Regina, Saskatchewan. To celebrate Williams life, a Memorial Celebration will be held in Burnaby, BC at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation on behalf of the late William H.S. Yee would be appreciated.
