Obituary of Alfred Tingle
Alfred Tingle (1916 - 2005)
Alfred Tingle passed away peacefully in Regina on September 21, 2005 with Donalda, his devoted wife of 59 years at his side. Al was born in Ottawa, Ontario and grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He proudly served in the RCMP throughout Saskatchewan from 1939 to 1967, retiring as a Section NCO in Regina. He joined the Masonic fraternity in 1949 and became a member of the NWMP Lodge # 11 in 1964, enthusiastically participating for more than 50 years. He held a deep affection for his Masonic family and related bodies including the Scottish rite (33rd degree) and the Ritualistic unit of the Shrine. Al loved sports of all kinds, especially football, and was an avid supporter of both the Riders and the Rams for more than 40 years. He joined the YMCA in 1968 and enjoyed swimming so much he became a regular member of the100 Mile Club. He is survived by his wife Donalda, son Don (Wendy), grandson Patrick, all of Regina, granddaughter Jane of Calgary, and daughter Kathy (Gary) of Edmonton. He is fondly remembered by all who knew him as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandpa. The Tingle family wishes to thank the staff at Loretto House for the loving care and compassion given to their father and grandfather over the past several months. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in the RCMP Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2005, Reverend D.A. Higgs officiating. Flowers are most gratefully declined.
