Obituary of Mary Eileen Walker

WALKER, Mary Eileen It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Eileen Walker at the age of 84 years. Eileen passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, October 7, 2005. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband James (Alex) Walker. Eileen is survived by her children, Gerry (Linda) of Calgary, AB, Doug (Cathy) of Courtney, BC, Pam (Dom) Corbett of Rosthern, SK, Pat Walker of Regina, Kim Walker (Patricia Probyn) of Regina, Brad Walker of Calgary, Charlene (Dave) Rudderham of Regina and Cindy Walker of Regina; grandchildren, Doug, Mark, Brett, Ryan, Jennifer (Kevin) Brooks, Jordan and Spencer; great granddaughter Megan. Eileen was born on a farm in Paynton, SK December 24, 1920. She grew up in Paynton with her husband to be and they were married after Alex returned from World War II. Eileen taught school around the North Battleford area before moving to Regina in 1967. Eileen retired from the University of Regina after eighteen years of service in the library. She was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Cathedral for over thirty-eight years. The family would like to thank Dr. A. Muftah, the wonderful nurses on 4A Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital and William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice for their support and kindness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125 - 13th Avenue, with Rev. John Weckend and Rev. Louis Kubash celebrants. .
