Obituary of Robert Donald Mader
MADER - Robert (Bob) Donald Mader, of Regina, died suddenly on Monday, October 31 at age 62. Bob leaves behind many who loved him dearly: his daughters Joelle Mader (Brett Stevens) of Ottawa and Amy Mader (James Gates) of Regina; Joelle's and Amy's mother, Margot Mader, of Regina; brother Doug Mader (Barb) of Lumsden; sister Donaleen Mader of Panorama, BC; granddaughter, Greta; and, his dear companion of recent years, Carol Porter. Bob was very involved in the Regina community; he especially loved music, golf and learning new things. He gave fully of his time, skill and energy to many activities, and it was a rare outing where Bob didn't meet someone he knew. Bob lived almost his whole life in Saskatchewan, born in Nokomis, early years in Hudson Bay, high school in Milestone, and university in Saskatoon. He spent 35 years with SaskPower in Regina, retiring in 2002. Many may remember him as the man with the bike and carrier riding back and forth to work each day down Wascana Parkway. Bob's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre and the many people who have shown so much support and friendship to him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any organization of choice. An on-line book of condolence may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
