I have now been municipal organist for several towns in Finland and Norway. I was an organ student of Jack's as a teenager growing up in Regina. I worked for a time as his assistant at First Presbyterian before he sent me to U of Manitoba. His love of music I inherited through those years as his pupil. I cannot say how much he will be missed. He has been a cornerstone throughout my carreer, even though we had little contact since then.

I was so very sad to hear this news. I enjoyed working with Jack when he was a Board member at the Regina Symphony Orchestra. He truly loved the music, was the best concert program editor (he never missed a typo!), and very enjoyable to work with. What a great loss to the musical community in Regina. With condolences to his family and friends, Natasha Bood

We were so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Jack's passing. He had a profound, positive impact on music education within our school board and indeed the province. He led by example, and served the RBE with passion and integrity. Jack organized and supported Fine Arts initiatives that would promote quality music education beneficial to all students and staff. On a personal level, Jack was a dear colleague who I will always regard as a strong mentor and friend. We will never forget his amazing contribution to the musical life of this city and province! John - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

RIP Jack ... for years Jack was the driving force behind the "success" of the Rotary Club of Regina choir at the Regina Rotary Carol Festival ... we all wonder how he managed to keep the determination of making us a Choral Group :) Year after year he returned to tune our skills , always with passion and determination ... we will not be able to replace him as our Director ... Farewell Pal

John, I am so sorry for your loss. Jack was a dynamic and gifted man. He was the only person who made me want to do piano practice. Dad always looked forward to seeing you both at the symphony. I can't imagine the church without Jack at the organ. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
