Obituary of Raelene Dawn Bennett

RAELENE DAWN BENNETT (née Bell) July 15, 1980 - June 25, 2013 Raelene unexpectedly passed from this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 after a very brief illness. She was the loving wife and best friend to the love of her life John and mother to the three most important people in her life - her children Dean, Hayley and Taylor. Rae was the first born child of Karen Abrahamson and the late Brian Bell. She was the loving granddaughter of Rosemarie and the late Willard Abrahamson and Alfred and Joyce Bell. Rae was the daughter-in-law of Lyle and Kathy Bennett and the granddaughter-in-law of Cleve and Doris Bennett. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law to Nichole, Joel (Valentina), Kyle, Katrina, Chasity, and Dennis (Dawn). Raelene was a very special niece to Charlene (Kurtis), Marcia and Dennis, and a very special auntie to Emily, Brooklyn, Blair and William. She is also survived by three very special friends Amanda, Kelly, Carri and long time family friend Bruce. Raelene was predeceased by and is now with her grandpa Willard and dad Brian. She left us far too soon but made a huge impact on so many people throughout her life. Raelene lived for her family and appreciated the simple things in life. She was fiercely loyal to John and her kids and did everything to ensure they had a warm and comfortable home and a life full of love, cuddles and giggles. These were the most important things to her. Raelene was born in Regina on a beautiful sunny day July 15, 1980 after her mother had been in labour at the Pasqua Hospital for many hours. Little did we know the impact she would have on us all. As the first grandchild, daughter and niece for many in the family, she was the centre of attention, loved and doted on by everyone. Raelene loved to spend time with family whether it be playing cards with grandpa Willard, shopping with her grandma and aunties or hanging out with everyone over the holidays. She met her husband John when their paths crossed somewhat by accident. Their mutual attraction was evident from the start. Raelene knew what she wanted and when she realized that was John, the two were married after a brief courtship. She and John married March 31, 2001 surrounded by family and friends. It wasn't long before their family started to grow with the birth of Dean. In typical Raelene style, she prepared herself for the birth and motherhood by reading everything she could get her hands on. What made Raelene a wonderful mother wasn't found in any book. It was her complete devotion to the health and happiness of her family. The family continued to grow with the welcomed arrival of Hayley and Taylor. Raelene and John's family was now complete. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital for taking such good care of Raelene and her family during a very difficult time. A Celebration of Raelene's Life will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in memory of Raelene to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3 or to a charity of your choice.
