Obituary of Howard Lloyd William Hetterley

HOWARD HETTERLEY On Thursday, July 4th, 2013, Howard Hetterley passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Doreen (Turner); daughters Sandi Powell (Duane Wiste), Sheryl McEachern (Tim), son Brent Hetterley (Lisa); grandchildren, Erin Powell (Doug Dahl), Brian McEachern (Sheri), Jason Powell (Crystal), Kevin McEachern (Rachael), David Hetterley, Greg Hetterley, Mark Hetterley; and four great-grandchildren, James Dahl, Ewan McEachern, Annali and Matthew McEachern; sister Gladys Klassen (John); sister-in-law Lorraine Ksonzena; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Howard was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Mary Hetterley; son-in-law Tim Powell; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ernest and Dorothy Turner; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Trudy Hetterly; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Warren and Ella Haacke; and brother-in-law Joe Ksonzena. Howard lived his life to the fullest with dignity and charm. He enjoyed travelling many places in Canada and the US with his wife and he always enjoyed spending time with friends. Howard was a volunteer firefighter in Yorkton, SK as a young adult, worked for Swift Canada, George Weston Ltd., First Filter Service and Gainers Foods Ltd. He was a member of the ACT and UCT for many years until his passing. Howard’s passion was spending time with his family. He enjoyed Sunday drives in the country followed by a picnic at any time of the year, golfing and his favourite holiday was Christmas. Howard’s loving memory will be cherished by all who knew him. A special thank you to the staff at Pioneer Village, for the special care Howard received during the past six years and especially the last week of his life. A Celebration of Howard’s Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 1:00 pm. with Rev. James Otitoju officiating.
