Obituary of Ellen Irene Stone

ELLEN IRENE STONE (nee Bird) Ellen passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband George Charles Stone (1972); parents Paul and Alice Bird of Wilcox, SK; and in-laws Richard and Annie Stone; Ellen is survived by her children, Richard (Diane) Stone, Fern Stone and Shirley (Syd) Eisler; grandson Jeremy (Sarah) great-grandchildren Caitlyn and Ian Stone; granddaughters, Julie Stone, Jennifer Eisler, and Janelle Eisler; she is also survived by her sister Joyce Youle; and many nieces and nephews from the Youle, Kenville, Bird and Stone families. Ellen was also predeceased by her parents, Paul and Alice Bird of Wilcox, SK; brother James Russell (Bud) Bird; and sisters, Audrey Kenville and Elizabeth “Beth” in infancy; brothers-in-law, Elmer Youle, Albert Kenville, Harry Stone, Herbert and Frank Stone; and sisters-in-law, Ella Bird and Florence “Florrie” Stone. Ellen was born on the farm outside of Wilcox, SK on February 26, 1922. She attended Prairie Lawn School and in 1942 she attended Balfour and met George. They were married in September 1944. Ellen worked for Federated Co-Operatives for 31 years and retired in 1987. She loved to garden and spend time with her family. She was a wonderful, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister and Aunt. We love you, we will miss you, we will always be thinking of you and Dad together again. The Family sends our heartfelt thanks for your health care and love for Ellen in the past year to Dr. K. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Ron Nagel, celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
