Obituary of Gerry Starr

Gerry, late of the Star Blanket First Nation passed on to the Spirit world on Thursday, July 25, 2013. To cherish his memory, his wife of 39 years Edith; his daughters: Darla, Danette, Geraldine (Mark) Gail (Sonny) Grandchildren: Ricky (Jen), Gina (Jonah),Travis (Chelsea), Trevor, Troy, Kayto (Melissa) and Jeremy(Tia), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His Aunt Marceline, Siblings: Willard(Doris) Fred, Noel, Edith(Elmer), Lorraine (Maurice) and Ethel (Robert) Godson: Claude(Pearl) Traditional family: Jimmy and Wanda, Annie, Maureen, Dallon, Landon, Brandi and all the Buffalo ladies. Special niece: Cheryl. Inlaws: Ron, Elsie, Rosalie, Allan and Margaret. All his relatives from File Hills and the Treaty Four and Treaty Six Territory and Rocky Boy, Montana. His Special Angels: Taye Lyssa, Janaye “Naynay-Bells” Natalie -“Natty” Tessa -“Mouse” and Serayha. Gerry was predeceased by his youngest daughter - Jeannie - Paternal Grandparents - Allan and Marie Agnes Starr, parents; Victor and Mary (nee Keewatin) Starblanket, brothers: Chief Irvin Starblanket, Clayton, Ronnie Wakeup, Albert “Snowman” and sisters in infancy-Darlene, Frances and Eleanor, friend- Lefa Buffalo. He will journey with other past relatives and friends not mentioned. Traditional Wake to commence on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. and Funeral Service on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Okanese Learning Centre, Okanese First Nation, with burial taking place at Star Blanket Cemetery.
