Obituary of Geana Zenovia Berar

GEANA ZENOVIA BERAR (nee Cojocar) The family of Geana, sadly announce her passing on Saturday, August 3, 2013 after a courageous life with Stiffperson’s Syndrome. Pre-deceased by her parents, Mary and George Cojocar; and husband of 53 years, George Berar; Geana is survived by her children, Shauna (Doug) Coons, Luanne (Mark) Frederick, Darren (Wendy) Berar; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jonathan, Ashley, Shaya, Nathan, Tessa, Rebecca; and great-grandchild Sydney. Geana was born on November 15, 1934 and grew up and went to school in Kayville, SK. She taught school there for one year with her Grade 12 certificate, then moved to Moose Jaw and worked at a bank. She married her high school sweetheart, George in 1954. George and Geana lived in a variety of places in Saskatchewan and Alberta while George worked for the Co-op and Weststeel Rosco and Geana worked at SaskPower. She was community-minded and belonged to the United Church Women (UCW), Kinettes and Lioness clubs, Community Club and taught 4-H and Sunday school. Geana enjoyed living at Wintergreene Estates for the past five years, where she made some special friends.
