MARY LILLIAN ARMSTRONG
August 23, 1923 - August 19, 2013
Mary passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013. Born in Toronto, She grew up in Mount Forest, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto. Mary worked in retail sales and advertising until she married Grant Armstrong and moved to Regina where he practiced law and later was appointed a Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench. She worked as a volunteer with various organizations, notably the MacKenzie Art Gallery and Knox-Metropolitan Church. Mary gardened with pleasure, cultivating both flowers and vegetables, but her passion was for the world of art which took her to places around the world - China, England, and Italy were her favourites. She is survived by her daughter Jane Armstrong; grandson Shafeeq Armstrong; daughter-in-law Darlene Armstrong; and grandchildren, Jill and Cole Armstrong. Mary was predeceased by her husband Grant and son, Doug. A special thanks to her close friends and roommates, along with the staff at Extendicare Parkside for making Mary comfortable these last months. According to her wishes there will be no public funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam, may be made to a charity of your choice.
