Obituary of Dong Chew Yee

It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our father and grandfather, Dong Chew Yee in his 84th year. He passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 surrounded by his family. Dong Chew was predeceased by his wife Sue Mai, his parents and two sisters. He will be deeply missed by his children; Terry (William), Annie (Rowan), Fannie (Bill), Nannie (Joe), Kyle (Michiyo); his grandchildren Paul, Peter, Patrick, Bill C., Christina, Lukas, Joshua, James, Bill M., and Kyle Jr.; and sister Yu Li Li. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Dong Chew immigrated from Hoiping, China in 1952, in hopes of creating a new life in Canada for his family. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for making his final moments peaceful. A private family service was held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 followed by an interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
