Obituary of Margaret Ganshorn

MARGARET GANSHORN April 13, 1926 – September 1, 2013 On Sunday, September 1, 2013, Margaret died peacefully in Regina at the age of 87 years. She was born and raised on the family farm near Rouleau, SK. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Louisa and Alexander Nolan; husband Clarence; brothers, John and Harold; sisters Olive, Evelyn, Viola and Edna. She is survived by her sons, Calvin (Barb) and their children Heather (Trevor), Kevin and Brian and Doug (Leona) and their children Michael (Crystal) and Melanie; daughter Gail (Steve) and their son Kelly; sisters, Jean Rempel and Winnifred Hyrve; as well as three great-grandchildren. Margaret will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her greatest joys were times spent in her large garden and sharing the bounties with family and friends. Winters were spent knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She and Clarence enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and travelling to Alberta and BC to visit relatives, as well as taking in some army reunions. Margaret especially enjoyed having her grandchildren come to visit at the farm. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Autumn Personal Care Home where Margaret was residing. A private family graveside service will be held in Regina Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam, may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK, S4P 3Z4.
