Obituary of Yim Yung Yee

YIM YUNG YEE 1931 - 2013 It is with great sadness that the family of Yim Yung Yee, late of Regina announces her passing. After losing her courageous battle with cancer, Yim passed away gracefully on Tuesday September 3, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Dot Yim and Yuk Chun Jung; brother Robert and sister-in-law Jane Jung. Yim is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wee Gain Yee (Perry); and their children, Kenneth Yee, Donald Yee (Christine), Shirley (Terry) Thompson, George Yee, John Yee and Roger (Lorelei) Yee. Yim is also survived by six grandchildren, Abigail Tai Yee, Jade, Amber, Brandan and Aspen Thompson and Malia Peyton Yee; nephew Ron (Judy) Jung, great-niece Jennifer, and niece Linda (Fiorenzo) Gardin. Yim was born in Toisan Village in Kan Tung Province in China and immigrated to Canada in 1965 after 12 years apart to join her husband in hopes of creating a new life in Canada. Together they ran Perry Yee Grocery and Confectionary on College Avenue for 16 years. They also raised a successful family through dedication and hard work. Throughout her life, she showed us the true meaning of strength, courage and love. Special thanks to Dr. Torri and all the physicians at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, the nursing staff at the 4A Unit - Pasqua Hospital, and Wascana Grace Hospice for all the amazing care they provided for Mom/Grandma during her stay there. Public Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park.
