Obituary of Gordon Hardy Vincer

Gordon passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Moose Jaw, SK and left at the age of 11 years old when his father George was transferred from B.A. Oil to Ontario where he was Chief Engineer. Gordon’s mother Eva was a registered nurse and trained in Moose Jaw. Gordon received his Commercial Pilot license in 1950, and flew a Norseman Aircraft in Northern Ontario, Quebec, Labrador and Ungava. He married Audrey and returned to his trade, in machine shops. In 1989, Gordon moved to Regina and drove school bus for six years, until his retirement. He enjoyed building and flying radio control model aircraft, and going to afternoon dances at the Seniors Centre with friend Helen. Gordon is survived by his sons, Paul, John and Glenn; grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Scott, Brian, Dylan and Wendy; sisters, Cheryl of Regina and Sharon of Lampman; nieces, Kim, Yvonne “Vonnie”, Lea and Lorna; and cousin Sheila McCarthy of Moose Jaw. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw, SK.
