Obituary of Delphine Elizabeth Severight

Delphine, Pewapiko Pinaciaqwe "Iron Thunderbird Woman", went to the arms of our loving Creator on Monday, September 23, 2013. She was predeceased by her father Frederick Stonechild; stepfather Hughie McLellan; and children, Peter and Lynnetta. Delphine leaves to walk on Mother Earth her mother Margaret Kolodziezak; aunt, "mom" Mona Dieter and family; children, Errol (Tammy) and Garret (Joanne); grandchildren, Scott (Shelley), Heith, Amanda, Adrianna, Brandon, Divinity Warner and Tameeka Zee-Del; great-grandchild Alaynia; many aunts, uncles, siblings and their families, as well as very special relatives. Delphine had a big heart and was always there for people in their time of need. She spent many years as a teacher, loved children very much, and worked in many community and First Nation organizations where she made a difference. Delphine will be lovingly remembered and missed by all. A very special thanks to Sue Deranger and Tammy Stapleton for being there for Delphine and following her wishes. A Wake will be held at Okanese First Nation gymnasium on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. A Traditional Funeral Service will follow on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Harry Francis and Murray Ironchild officiating.
