Obituary of Helen Toderan
Helen Toderan passed away at the age of 95 on Thursday, October 17, 2013, in Regina, SK. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3720 Hill Ave., Regina, SK, with Pastor Ted Deer officiating. Helen was born in Rosthern, SK on April 24, 1918 the 4th youngest of 13 children, to parents Katherina and Martin Schapansky, now deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband John Toderan and baby daughter May Ruth, a grandson Dean Toderan and granddaughter-in-law, Amber Bowerman; 4 sisters and 8 brothers (including her twin brother Henry who was 15 minutes her junior.) Helen will be sadly missed by her 5 surviving children and 8 surviving grand children: Betty (Ken) Gabel of Davidson, SK and their 2 sons, Grant and Jason Gabel, Marie and (Brian) Bowerman of Calgary, AB and their daughter Andrea Bourget and son Chris Bowerman, Larry and (Dianne) Toderan of Kelowna, BC, Diane (Bill) Puscus of Regina, SK and their two daughters Jennifer Puscus and Jacqueline Guyader and Nancy (Ted) Smerek of Moose Jaw and their two daughters Jaimee Smerek Lisik and Michelle Smerek. She will be sadly missed by her 14 great grandchildren: Jenna Rae Puscus, Morgan Lisik, Damara Gabel and her sister Kayla, Jesse Lisik, Jesse Toderan, Sean Bourget, Nikolas Taylor, Zachary Gabel, Hanna Bourget, Jacob Gabel, Matthew Bourget, Gracelyn Lisik and Luka Smerek. She will also be missed by her good friend Christine, numerous nieces, nephews and friends from Storey Manor where she was a long time resident and many other friends. We would like to thank the great nursing staff & Doctors in Ward 3D and 3A Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital and the excellent and compassionate care she was given at the William Booth, Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Helen, to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Rd, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
