Obituary of Shirley Patricia Oates

SHIRLEY PATRICIA OATES After a courageous battle with cancer, Shirley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Kenneth; and sister-in-law Fran. Shirley is survived by her loving partner of 38 years, Bill Anderson; son David (Brenda) of Regina; daughter Missie (Ross) Affleck of Warman; son Michael (Tracie) of Sooke, BC; Brian (Cheryl) of Oyen, AB; grandchildren Telanne (Ken) Wilhelm and Kayla Oates of Regina, Alyssa (Tyler) Affleck of Warman, Helena Affleck of Castor, AB, Benjamin and Lucas Oates of Sooke, BC, Theo and Jordan Oates of Saskatoon, Shelby and Bre-ann Oates of Oyen; and her beloved first great-grandchild Noah Wilhelm of Regina; brother Raymond Doiron of Ottawa; sister-in-law Joan Doiron of Powasson, ON; sister and brother-in-law Peter and Christine Poitras of Regina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Shirleys Life at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined but friends so wishing may make a donation, in memoriam, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3 or donate blood at Canadian Blood Services in your area. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all the medical and professional staff on Unit 3B and Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital, who provided such excellent and compassionate care to Shirley during her last weeks.
