Obituary of Geraldine Reta Constance Lanz

GERALDINE RETA CONSTANCE LANZ August 15, 1921 – October 21, 2013 Gerry passed away peacefully at Westhill Manor on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She was born to John and Ludvika (Mang) on their homestead at Avonhurst, SK, August 15, 1921. Gerry worked on the family farm until 1942 when she left to work in the gun factory in Toronto during the war. Later she moved to Regina with her mother and brother Reinhold. Gerry joined Christ Lutheran Church in 1948, where she volunteered a great deal of her time. She also volunteered for 29 years with the Regina Cancer Clinic, Reach For Recovery program. She was a member of Regina’s Gladiola and Horticulture Society. Gerry was predeceased by her parents, John and Ludvika; five brothers, Frank, Emil, John, Ralph and Reinhold; nine sisters, Emma Gladwin, Eva Smidt, Erna Lanz, Martha Bell, Lydia Bray, Elsie McIvor, Lucy Elve, Violet Sauer and Atholine Reiss. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Leeson, officiating.
