Obituary of Louise Ann Cossette

LOUISE ANN COSSETTE (nee SQUIRES) On Saturday, October 19, 2013, Louise went to be with her husband George, the love of her life. Louise met George in St. John’s, Newfoundland during the war, where they married and then moved to Saskatchewan. Always true to her roots, she would be lovingly referred to by family and friends as “Newfie.” Many times, if she noticed a Newfoundland licensed car, she would give chase to chat, often bringing folk’s home for a visit or a meal. Louise was a fun-loving, outgoing person, enjoying family and friends, and her accordion was always ready for a song and jig. She was born October10, 1920 to Eli and Suzanne Squires at St. Phillips, Newfoundland. Louise had four brothers, Ben (Evelyn), Eli (Clara), Jim (Kathleen), and Harvey (Nancy); one sister Doris (Pat); and several favourite nieces and nephews. George and Louise had one son, Gary (Carol) and grandchildren, Jason (Shannon), Justin (Renata), Jodi, Jeremy (Ashley) and Jonas (Jill); as well as great-grandchildren, Shanaya, Jarret, Carli, Nikki, Josh, Kennedy and Hudson. Special thanks to Louise’s caregivers from Parkside Extendicare who were part of her life these past four years. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louise, may be made to Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1, or a charity of your choice.
