Obituary of Beverley Gale Bennett

Beverley passed away peacefully at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice on Thursday, October 31, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Beverley was born the second daughter to James and Alma Chambers on September 17, 1938 in Fillmore, Saskatchewan, moving to Regina at the age of 4 and living and thriving there for her remaining years. She attended Strathcona Elementary School and Central Collegiate followed by a secretarial career in several offices in the city. Her true calling however was interior design, at which she excelled. She had a keen eye for color and her company, b.b. Ruffles Interiors, was established in 1990 and became well respected for excellence in interior design throughout the province with Beverley at the helm. Beverley was devoted to her family, her many cherished friends, her clients, and Knox-Metropolitan United Church, where she was an Honorary Lifetime Member and served as a board member for many years as well as creating beautiful sanctuary settings for special church events. She loved gardening, cooking and entertaining, animals and nature, music of all kinds, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the color “pink”, but mostly, Beverley loved life in all its glory. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Alma Chambers, husband Donald Bennett and brother-in-law Edward Corman. Beverley is survived by her sister Shirley Corman; niece Debra Burnett and her children, Jessica and Alex; niece Darcy (Brian) Moynes and their children, Riley and Raegan; and nephew Jim (Brenda) Corman and their children, Wesley and Matthew. She is also survived by her step-children, Clayton (Carla) Bennett and Cheryl (Tony) Korchinski and their children, Joshua and Jasmine. Memorial Service in celebration of Beverley’s life will be held at Knox-Metropolitan United Church (northwest corner of Victoria Avenue and Lorne Street, Regina) on Monday, November 4th, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Kitchen officiating. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Dolores Logan, Jo Brown, Rev. Robert Kitchen, and Debbie Lane for their special devotion to Beverley throughout her recent health trials, as well as the wonderful, caring staff at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverley’s memory to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
