Obituary of Audrey Lily Irene Giokas

AUDREY LILY IRENE GIOKAS April 27, 1924 - May 11, 2012 On Friday, May 11th at Grace Hospice in Regina, Audrey passed peacefully into her eternal rest. Left to cherish Audreys memory are her daughters, Carol Kadash of Regina, Pat (John) Philopoulos of Winnipeg and Shirley Giokas of Regina. Her grandchildren Maria (Chris) Tsamalidis of Calgary, Scott Kadash, Trish (Darren) Bezborotko of Regina, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Eric, Luke, Troy, David, and Noah Slyker of Calgary and Lindsay and Chad Bezborotko of Regina. Audrey is also survived by her sisters Heather (Pip) Young, and Peggy Alderman, and brother, Bill (Joan) Last all of whom live in England. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1994. She is also predeceased by a sister Hazel Bean, and brothers Jeoffrey Clarke and George Last of England, son-in-law Bill Kadash, and a grandson, Michael Beally of Regina. Audrey came to Canada as a war bride joining her husband, Peter, here in Regina in July of 1946. She will be remembered for her gentle personality, warm smile and friendly demeanor. A celebration of Audreys life will be held at Hillsdale Baptist Church, 101 Munroe Place, Regina at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 with Rev. Mogens Jorgensen officiating. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
