Obituary of Dan Sagin

Born on September 14, 1914, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on October 15, 2013 after a long, productive and happy life of 99 years. Dan was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Sagin (Walters) in 2009. He was the last surviving child of ten children born to George and Leontina Sagin on the family homestead at Truax, Saskatchewan. Dan will be lovingly missed by his adult children Danny (Diana) of Birch Hills, Wayne (Sandra late) of Carberry, MB, Carol Lowes of Regina, Allan (Betty) of Avonlea, Marilyn (Bradley) Blythman of Maple Creek, grandchildren Reg Sagin, Justine (Trent) Walton, Karen (John) Crudden, Donna (Kyle) Sagin-Whitney, Allyson Sagin, Arlene (Arlin) Gravelle, Cale and Carter Blythman, great grandchildren David and Katherine Crudden, Bennett and Sophie Walton and Wyatt and Danika Gravelle. In addition Dan leaves to mourn many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by the staff of Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home and thanks them for treating Dan with respect, love and dignity. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 5th, at 7:00 PM at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Services, with Father Cosmin Sicoe, officiating will be held at 10:00 on Wednesday, November 6th, at St George Orthodox Cathedral, 2005 Edgar St. Regina, SK. Interment will follow at Regina Memorial Gardens, Highway #1 East. Flowers most gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dan's memory may be made to The Church Beautification Project, St George Orthodox Cathedral, 2005 Edgar Street, Regina, SK.
