Obituary of Kunigunde Baumann

KUNIGUNDE “GUNDI” BAUMANN Gundi passed away peacefully at age 87 on Monday, November 4, 2013 with family by her side at Pioneer Village in Regina. She was born on July 9, 1926 in Georgental, Ukraine to parents, Peter and Magdalena Gross. On October 15, 1945 in Fallersleben, Germany, Gundi married her loving husband Hans Werner Baumann. In January 1953 they immigrated to Regina where they continued to grow their family and traditions. Alzheimer disease challenged Gundi in more recent years, but it was an unrelated medical condition that had her spending her final days in the loving care of the staff at Pioneer Village. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Hans; children, Hans Jr. (Nancy), Ingrid (Bart), Robert (Ingrid) and Martin (Leslie); eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Joseph (Edith) and Peter (Ursula). Gundi was preceded in death by her parents; sister Mary (John) Heidt; and great-grandchild Marshall Knobben. At her request there will be no prayer services. Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
