Obituary of Paul G. Gottselig

PAUL G. GOTTSELIG It is with great sadness our family announces that Paul passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Elizabeth; and siblings, Alex, Joseph, Peter, Leo, Conrad, Clare, Edna, Mary, and Margaret. Paul is survived by Agnes, his loving wife of fifty years; children, Shelley Keiser (Tony Hellrung), Darryl (Anita) Gottselig, Garth (Michelle) Gottselig, Sheri (Michael) Kupper; grandchildren, Lance, Leah, Paul, Matthew, Jared, Russel, Doyle, Dawson, Braelyn, and Sarah; siblings, Gabe Gottselig, Rose Taylor, Kathy Peterson, Albert Gottselig, and John Gottselig; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was born May 8, 1929 on the farm at Chamberlain. He attended Vancise School and left the farm to work with the Department of Highways. Paul married Agnes on July 20, 1963 and they made their home in Regina where they raised their family. He worked at IPSCO for 31 years until his retirement in 1993. After retirement Paul was vice president/president with the SOAR organization for a number of years. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Paul also enjoyed golfing, wine and beer making, and traveling south during the winter months. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Paul will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses on ward 4A of the Pasqua hospital and the staff at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 100 Argyle Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. J.B. Okai presiding. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul, may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
