Obituary of Jacob Frank Wormsbecker

JACOB FRANK WORMSBECKER It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the age of 81 years. Jacob was predeceased by his wife Cecilia in 2004; his father Florian in 1990; his mother Katherine in 1997; and his daughter Laura in infancy in 1954. Jacob leaves to cherish his memory his children: George (Janet), Maurice (Kim) and Debbie (Vern). He also leaves six grandchildren: Jenny (Dale), Cheryl (Randy), Janelle (Tyler), Shawn, Lance and Jordan; five great-grandchildren: Rayanne, Radyn, Mason, Viki and Harlee. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Stan (Kelly); as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and by family members Anna-Marie Fraser and Rhonda Gamberg. Jacob was born on September 4, 1930 at Sedley, SK. It was here that he met and married Cecilia and had 51 wonderful years of marriage. Dad and Mom farmed north of Sedley where they raised their family until 1975 and then moved into Sedley and continued farming until Dads retirement in 1996. Jacobs passion was farming, cattle and his family. He was a great husband and father and the best teacher. There was no math problem that he couldnt solve for the grandchildren. Dad was known to be a comedian at times but was still an amazing leader and mentor to his children and grandchildren. Today heaven gains another HERO. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church in Sedley, SK on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donation may be made, in memoriam, to Alzheimers Society of Saskatchewan, 301 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
