Obituary of Gladys Whyte

GLADYS (nee Poulton) WHYTE Gladys, late of Regina, SK died peacefully in Regina General Hospital on Sunday, December 15, 2013 after suffering from a major stroke on November 8. Gladys, “Mum”, Grandma, Granny/great-grandma, and friend, will be greatly missed by all of us. It was her time to go and be with God. Gladys was born in East Molsey, England, on September 10, 1918. She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy (nee Davidson) and Ernest Charles Poulton; her brother Tom (Joan) Poulton; and niece Denise Poulton, all of England. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. J.P. (Jim) Whyte in March 1970. Gladys met her husband during WWII. Their married life was spent in Swift Current. Since 1981 she has resided in Regina. Gladys is survived by her daughter Mary (Nat) Ross, grandson Timothy (Candace) Ross and Afton, James, Emily and new baby expected, and grandson Elliot (Debbie) Ross and Ivy, Myah, Kyri, and Saesha; granddaughter Azelia (Danny) Ross-Neustaeter and Malachi, Nealah, Elias, Riel and new baby expected, and granddaughter Madeline (Neville) Fernandes and Cavan, Kieve, Ori, and Safa, grandson Reuben (Sheri) Ross. Gladys is also survived by her son Michael (Pat) Whyte; grandson Ben (Lisa) Whyte and Forrest, Sidney and Olive, granddaughter Keri-Jean (Kyle) Murphy and Mylo and Nava, granddaughter Elizabeth (Mike) Foss and Gracie and granddaughter Brittany. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Trevor Cherry, long-time family friend, officiating.
