Obituary of Neil William Perry

NEIL WILLIAM PERRY November 18, 1949 - Regina, SK December 9, 2013 - Calgary, AB Neil William Perry, beloved husband of Cheryl Perry (nee Stewart), passed away at Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, AB, on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the age of 64 years. Neil grew up in Regina, worked in the metal recycling industry, and transferred to Navajo Metals, Calgary in 1998, advancing to management of operations for Alberta. He maintained hope and a smile on his face while he waged a valiant fight against cancer for the past decade. In his final days, Neil shared memories of his youth, hockey, slow pitch, golf, travel, his love of cars, but mostly of his love for his family and friends. Neil savoured the time he spent with his beloved granddaughters; one of his very few regrets was not being able to see them grow up. Neil's impact on his family and friends was immense: his kindness, caring, giving, selflessness, sense of fun, his sincerity and respect for others, his determination and his tremendous love are an inspiration to us all. He will never be forgotten. Neil is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, life partner and best friend Cheryl; daughter Krista Bouchard (Kevin Hill) of Strathmore, AB; granddaughters, Julianna and Natalie; brother Bob (Meta) Perry of Regina, SK; sisters, Donna (Larry) Hall of Buena Vista, SK and Deb (Daryl) Hubich of Medicine Hat, AB; father-in-law Charles Stewart of Regina, SK; and brother-in-law Lyle (Linda) Stewart of Pense, SK. Neil is also survived by nieces and nephews, Mike (Diana) Hall, Steve Greenhough (Amanda Wilkinson), Kenton Hall (Angie Hipfner), Darryl (Melody) Hubich, Stephanie (Gabe) Batstone, Colin Hall (Sarah Garden), Alison (Sean) Sargent, Lee (Jessica) Stewart and their families. He will also be dearly missed by extended family, friends and co-workers. Neil was predeceased by his parents, John and Edith Perry; mother-in-law Verna Stewart; son-in-law Martin Bouchard and infant nephew Christopher Hall. A celebration of Neil's life was held at McInnis & Holloway Fish Creek Chapel, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
