Obituary of George Johns

George Frederick Johns, born March 23, 1937, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2013. Predeceased by his parents G.W.C (Bill) and Phyllis, father and mother-in-law Warren and Elaine Smyth, his wife Marnie and daughter Carolyn. George is survived by his wife, Adrienne, son Steve, granddaughters Catherine (Mike) Landry, Michelle Maier (Saj Jamil), great-granddaughter Caitlyn Landry, daughter-in-law Joanne McLeod and Adrienne's daughters Mel and Nicole. Also survived by siblings Carol (Steve) Zakaib, Ken (Mona) and Lawrie (Barbara). Nephews Kristen, Kelly, Kevin and Brian. George had a great love for his dogs, hunting, golfing, spending time at the lake and winters in Arizona. After working for Smith Brothers and Wilson Construction like his grandfather and father, George started his own company, Johns Construction with his wife, Marnie, and later with his son Steve. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
